Kloeckner Metals UK is one of the largest mill-independent multi metal stockholders and distributors in the UK. The team at Kloeckner Metals UK, formerly known as ASD Metals, has worked with our workwear and PPE experts at Contego Safety Solutions since early 2011. Since that time, the relationship has grown, from the provision of one safety workwear product to a wide range of workwear and PPE to suit the needs of their workforce.

The perfect fit

Originally, we were asked to develop a glove in the WEARMASTER® range for workers at one of Kloeckner Metals’ depots. The glove perfectly suited the company’s requirements and budget, something other suppliers were unable to do.

This initial project was so successful that the contract quickly developed into the provision of further products, as our greater understanding of their personnel needs and requirements evolved.

Innovation for customer satisfaction

All 13 branches of Kloeckner Metals UK regularly receive a wide range of products and we created a bespoke online buying platform to offer them the flexibility and ease needed for depot ordering.

In addition, the Kloeckner Metals UK head office and purchasing department regularly receive all the reports and statistics necessary to enable them to keep control of their budget and ensure we are performing according to the KPIs agreed.

A monthly usage per branch/user report is sent to them automatically, as well as them having the capability to look at usage by the individual wearer. This allows full visibility of all items ordered and who they were ordered for, providing the ability to track excessive usage by personnel.

The online buying platform also offers features such as:

  • Restricted access – all users can only order approved items from the site.
  • Approval limit – all orders over a certain value have to be approved.
  • Customised items – ordered quickly and easily online, without the risk of workwear logos being in the wrong place, or not fitting with brand guidelines.
  • Order tracking and POD access.
  • Ability to download all invoices.
